Bombers and HSEL partnership

The Adelaide Crows-owned High School Esports League has teamed up with another AFL team, the Essendon Bombers, to introduce HSEL tournaments in Victoria in 2019.

Essendon, which has a League of Legends team in the Oceanic Pro League named the ‘Bombers’, has set up an esports high performance centre at the Club’s base in Tullamarine.

Together, the HSEL and Bombers will help educate, promote and raise awareness of gaming and esports across Victorian high schools to teachers, students and parents.

HSEL Commissioner Woody Wu said it was exciting that the HSEL is now able to expand into Victoria.

“Essendon is a great organisation that has become more involved and invested into local esports,” Wu said.

“This strategic partnership with the Bombers will benefit students throughout Victoria by helping HSEL extend our reach and engagement with local schools.

“After holding events like the Victorian HSEL LOL final at the Melbourne Esports Open in 2018, engagement will be a big aspect of the partnership.”

Essendon’s facilities, players and coaches will be utilised as part of the agreement.
